        Guinea Pigs are born with their eyes open, and can eat solid food in two days.

        Guinea Pigs are often used in tuberculosis tests, because of their low resistance to tubercle bacteria.

       When Guinea Pigs are very happy, they will jump into the air. This is called 'Popcorning'!

        Guinea Pigs are eaten in some villages near Peru. There is very little space for cattle, so the locals will hunt Wild Cavies instead.

Guinea Pigs sometimes eat their own poo; it contains vital nutrients.

Guinea Pigs make a wide variety of noises, including chirping, whistling, humming, purring, and squeaking.

The most Domestic Guinea Pigs ever born in one litter was 15.
The average is 2 to 4.
